Classic Rock
Classic Rock courses are for anyone that has some rock climbing experience and feels that some professional input will allow them to safely realise their climbing goals. Working on some of the classic mountains and crags, we keep client-to-guide ratio to a maximum of 1:3, and work on routes that suit your aspirations and ability. Climbing in Snowdonia can be weather dependant and each day a venue is chosen to be best suited to the conditions as well as the specific needs of the group. Classic rock courses are predominantly on multi-pitch mountain crags.
What we cover
Courses are available both at weekends and midweek from 2 to 5 days duration. Throughout the course we look at the following areas:
- Single and multi-pitch climbing
- Modern ropework
- Double rope technique
- Dynamics of belaying and fall factors
- Abseiling in retreat with self protection.
- Judgement, route choice and route finding
Weekend courses allow clients to develop at their own pace and give a sound structure to the learning process. Longer courses offer the opportunity to climb more routes and continue to develop the new skills learnt at the start of the course.
What Does It Cost
The cost of a classic rock course is easily calculated by adding the daily guide rate and accommodation rate per day and per night for the totals required.
- Guide Rate £210.00 per day (1 – 3 persons)
- Accommodation £35.00 per person per night (based on 2 persons sharing)
- Maximum Ratio 1:3
All specialist equipment such as ropes, harness, helmets and rack are included in the price. Clients on these courses tend to have some personal equipment such as rock shoes, although we do have a small selection if needed.
